Welcome to Carolina Pedestrians

We are an organization dedicated to increasing the livability of South and North Carolina communities, through pedestrian advocacy.

We are all pedestrians - so why is there so little respect for us?  Carolina Pedestrians is a group of people who care about the safety of our communities for walkers, joggers, and people who use wheelchairs. We all need to be safe while we go shopping, out to eat, and out for exercise!  Join now and help us help "all of us"!

Pedestrians places...

Many streets do not have sidewalks...

It is important to walk on the left hand side (facing traffic) and wear visible clothing, and always pay attention to your surroundings!

Parks with trails are ideal...

Parks are great pedestrian places for excercise and enjoyment, however they often do not allow for purposful trips to the store, or restaurants, etc. Also they are often too far from home to safely walk to!
